What is GROWL?
GROWL is an Ohio PAC
A registered Ohio PAC is a political action committee that has formally filed with the Ohio Secretary of State to raise and spend money in support of or opposition to candidates, ballot issues, or political causes under state campaign finance laws. Contributions to a PAC are not tax-deductible, and a registered Ohio PAC does have donation limits. GROWL PAC supports candidates independently, without any coordination, direction, or planning with their campaigns as required by Ohio law.
Ohio is a pivotal state in determining the future of the United States of America. Throughout American history, Ohio has significantly influenced the shape, values, and leadership of the United States. The GROWL PAC is dedicated to protecting those values and our democracy, and to supporting candidates who understand and share their views.
GROWL supports modern, progressive, feminist, and pro-democracy candidates running for local offices, such as school boards and city councils, especially in Northeast Ohio, and additionally, regional and statewide candidates and initiatives that align with pro-democracy and progressive values.
GROWL focuses on leadership opportunities for women dedicated to integrity, equal rights, and justice for all Americans.
GROWL will work to return Ohio to a state with fair representation, representing all citizens. GROWL respects the vote of each person equally and supports those who seek democratic leadership as called for in our Constitution.
GROWL is supported by a network of seasoned professionals with expertise in messaging, communications, advertising, design, education, advocacy, and campaign organization.

Who we are.
GROWL grew out of Grass Roots Resistance (GRR), a private grassroots organizing group that began in 2016 with a dozen Northeast Ohio women. GRR, now 450 strong, plays an influential role in Northeast Ohio Politics.
GRR members represent more than 12 cities and areas of Ohio. Members vote in local and state elections. They participate in regional meetings, give testimony, inform neighbors and friends about issues, introduce local candidates running for office, canvas door-to-door, write and mail postcards, attend political events, collect petition signatures, and much more.
Since its inception, GRR members have worked on numerous campaigns and local and statewide ballot initiatives. Members learned the need for financial support for new candidates competing for office.
GROWL was born as a separate legal entity for that end.
What Makes GROWL Different?
We stand out because of our smart and unique voice that reflects the feisty women of GRR. While we support progressive and democratic values, we are not a Democratic Party mechanism or machine. We bring a bold, spirited approach to political activism that sets us apart from the crowd.
